The generosity of our local community members continues to warm our hearts!

Pete Maurath is an avid cyclist. He was interested in helping children in our community who might not have a bicycle to enjoy this summer and perhaps would like to ride to school one day. He has been hard at work refurbishing bicycles that he donates to our schools, and then they are distributed to students.

This first round of ten bikes were donated to Edison, Jefferson, Longfellow and Royalview. More bicycles will be available this summer.

Thank you so much, Pete, for helping our students be on the move safely!

The Longfellow Leaders had their end of the year celebration! They enjoyed a white elephant squishy exchange, the annual water balloon toss, and a video game truck! As Longfellow Leaders, they volunteer to help lead special projects throughout the year. They are truly learning how to put their Portrait of a Graduate competencies in practice.

After completing their unit on Kings and Queens, Longfellow’s Kindergarten class held a “Royal Ball.” Students dressed up in their most royal outfits and dined like queens and kings. This culminating event was an exciting way to end one of their CKLA units of study.

Longfellow’s Library invites families and friends to read books to the kids in the library. Recently, Dr. Patrick Ward, Superintendent, took time out of his busy schedule to come to read and chat with our little learners.
